The Story of BenBel Pet Bakery

BenBel Pet Bakery is more than a business, it’s our love letter to two amazing dogs who changed our lives: Benji and Bella.

Benji, who we heartbreakingly lost to cancer in 2020, was more than a pet, he was a soul companion. Bella, our sweet girl who’s still with us, continues to light up our days with joy and unconditional love. Their unique journeys, filled with love, health challenges, and learning, led us to a realisation: our pets deserve better.

With Benji’s passing and Bella’s ongoing allergies, we became obsessed with what was actually in the treats we were buying. Too often we saw ingredient lists filled with preservatives, artificial colours, added sugars, and even toxic substances like xylitol  things no dog should ever consume.

So we got to work.

After hundreds (probably thousands!) of trial and error attempts, we finally crafted recipes that are not only wholesome and nourishing, but also safe. It wasn’t easy there were so many moments of frustration, messy kitchens, and failed batches. But every setback brought us closer to something we’re truly proud of.

Our cookies may not be rock hard or polished like factory-made ones and our frosting might melt a little on a warm day but what you see is what you get. There’s nothing mixed in or hidden behind fancy names or labels. We believe in crystal clear recipes made from real, dog safe Australian ingredients.

Each treat is a small piece of our heart, baked with purpose and passion. Whether it’s a birthday cake, a special gift box, or just a tail wagging reward, you can feel confident knowing it’s made with honesty, care, and the highest standards.

BenBel is a tribute to Benji’s memory and Bella’s life and now, a part of your dog’s story too. We’re honoured to be part of your journey, and we thank you for trusting us with the health and happiness of your furry family.
